Five ways to enjoy Slimming World and be organised

Being on a diet isn’t always the best way to feel good about yourself, often it can be really challenging and make you feel down if you aren’t achieving the results you want to achieve.
However, for me Slimming World has become about having fun whilst trying to lose weight. Finding things that you enjoy doing to keep you on track is definitely the way forward.

Slimming World is very different to the way other diets work as for a start the moment you walk into group, you are told Slimming World isn’t a diet – it’s a lifestyle change.
I have come up with five ways that I use to enjoy Slimming World in other ways than just eating.

Plan

If you love stationery and getting organised as much as me the Slimming World opens up new ways to track your food with an abundance of different planning/ tracking organisers.
Often, Slimming World will give away free four-week planners at the beginning of the year, but I love using prettier ones that help me stay on track. It’s also a great distraction from eating. I buy stickers to accompany my organisers.
I have used the Princess Planning planners in the past which were perfect and absolutely gorgeous however, this year my boyfriend bought me a gorgeous hard back organiser from Amelia Lane Paper. This is great because it has literally everything I need to keep me organised from a monthly planner to a daily to do list and food tracker. This organiser is a little higher in price though.
Princess Planning is great too because not only do they look beautiful there are fun activities you can include within your organiser that are specific to Slimming World. I am also aware that you can buy Weight Watchers ones if you follow this plan instead..

Follow both of these companies on Instagram:

Amelia Lane Paper - @amelialanepaper

Influencers
Some people don’t always agree that influencers are the best people to follow as they can have the opposite effect of making you feel good about yourself. However, I couldn’t disagree more with that statement – following likeminded people who can give me hints and tips and most of all I can be inspired by their journeys which leads the way for my own is a great way to engage with Slimming World.

Often people share their own thoughts and syn values which can give you meal prep and snack ideas. I wouldn’t be able to live without following some of these lovely people on Instagram. Some followers that have really inspired me are:

@itsdaniellesjourney

@chloephillips_sw

@jessiesjourney

Cooking
I absolutely love cooking and cannot live without tasty meals – Slimming World is great because it offers a range of delicious recipe alternatives. I follow @pinchofnom as they have created some amazing recipes including KFC Chicken and my absolute signature dish – carbonara (so tasty).
I also take inspiration from the Slimming World app, cooking books and the magazine.

Group
I am so busy that I usually don’t have enough time to stay at group each week however, I do try and set time aside twice per month to sit at group as it does help discover new techniques and talk to people that have a similar mindset.
It’s great to share ideas which is another reason why the influencers online are a great resource of Slimming World because they give me the get up and go when I can’t attend group.

Countdown

I absolutely love buying a countdown at Slimming World because it means I have a focus and I love nothing more than a focus. It also makes me want to go to group more because I have paid up front for the sessions. My advice here is always to wait to buy a 12 week count down at times when they are giving away free books because I just love extra resources. I swear I have so many Slimming World books now, my book case is about to burst.

My Take Away Resruarant Slimming World Syns List

I find it really difficult to find up to date information about Slimming World online. I think this is because all of the Forums are from between 2010 and 2014 when the 'Red and Green' days still existed. Obviously Slimming World has changed somewhat since then and it makes the new guidelines for the plan much easier however...I cannot find anything online about Take Away food. I know that Slimming World has pages for each of the most popular take aways but it doesn't really go into much detail about their syns, especially my favorite which is Thai Food. Here is a list of everything I have compiled together for a 2017 Slimming World Take Away Restaurant Syns List. As it will take some time to go through this I am going to be writing my findings in a series of posts about how you can still eat take aways on your Slimming World plan. THAI FOOD Starting with my absolute favorite. On the main Slimming World website it does suggest things like Pad Thai Jay or Khao

Slimming world lunches on a budget

Slimming World is known for having so many different items of food that you can eat with low syns or no syns at all. Often lunch time is where you find the highest syns with lots of bread, creamy sauces and carbs everywhere! I went to the gym this morning and stocked up for next week on a four items all under 3 syns each. First things first Batchelor's Pasta 'n' Sauce which if you follow me on Instagram you will know is one of my absolute go to, quick fix lunches. I think I have had it most days this week. Anyway...In the supermarket today I found these and they are only 1.5 syns. SYN HEAVEN. They are great because you don't need to add anything else other than hot water and they taste the same as the packets. They are limited in options though as there was only this flavour and the chicken and mushroom one on the shelves. The chicken and mushroom pot was also 1.5 syns. On the Slimming World Lifeline Online there is another options but maybe they haven&#
